The Beginning
We have observed that many urban daycares are not fully occupied. This situation hits smaller daycares particularly hard – they can’t just hire or lay off staff flexibly. Running an underutilized daycare is an enormous economic challenge. At the same time, we parents in Switzerland feel the pressure of rising health insurance premiums and high rents. We know that daycare costs in Switzerland amount to a quarter of household income, making our daycares among the most expensive in Europe.
Our platform creates an initial connection here: Daycares can offer their available spots on Awina under flexible payment terms. As parents, you can create a profile, compare individual daycares in a very clear way, and send non-binding inquiries. You can also see which daycares offer flexible payment plans. We then negotiate these options for you in the second step.
The Future
In a second step, we connect daycares directly with employers. We are developing a creative solution that enables companies to finance daycare costs for their employees – all easily and directly.
